Precision Chemistry for Complex Systems

Upstream Downhole covers a wide range of services. To continue operating at peak efficiency, process systems, vessels, and pipelines must be kept free of scale, sludge, precipitates, and deposits.

Pre-operational Upstream Downhole of pipework

Phase 01

Pre-Operational Cleaning

Performed prior to startup, this critical phase removes foreign materials remaining from construction activities. We target mill scale, weld slag, temporary protective coatings, grease, and debris to ensure pristine system integrity before introducing process fluids.

Degreasing and alkaline boil-outs.

Acid pickling to remove mill scale and iron oxides.

Passivation to create a protective oxide layer.

Phase 02

Post-Operational Maintenance

Executed during regular shutdowns or turnarounds. This process targets the removal of by-products generated during standard operations, restoring heat transfer efficiency, reducing flow restriction, and providing clean access for structural inspections.

Removal of organic fouling (heavy oils, asphaltenes).

Dissolution of inorganic scale (calcium, silicates, iron sulfide).

Decontamination for safe man-entry (LEL, H2S, Benzene removal).

Technician verifying completed maintenance

Chemical Application Methods

Selecting the proper method depends on system design, flow rates, metallurgy, and deposit type. We offer comprehensive delivery techniques.

Fill and Circulate

The standard for closed-loop systems. Chemicals are pumped continuously through the system, using heat and velocity to enhance reaction rates.

Cascading Method

Ideal for large columns and vessels. Chemicals are distributed at the top and allowed to gravity-flow down over trays and internal structures.

Vapour Phase

Injecting chemical formulations into steam streams. Excellent for de-oiling, degassing, and LEL removal in large storage tanks and flare lines.

Two-Phase Flow

Combines liquid chemistry with nitrogen gas. Creates high-velocity turbulence to scour out severe particulates and stubborn scale.

Foam Cleaning

Utilizes highly stable chemical foams to completely fill large spaces (like condensers), ensuring 360-degree contact with minimum liquid volume.

Nozzle / 3D Cleaning

Automated high-pressure chemical spray heads inserted into vessels to mechanically blast and chemically dissolve internal deposits simultaneously.
